Data Visualization

Our data warehousing team will work with your subject matter experts to identify your reporting goals and help you unleash the power of your data with the latest data visualization technologies such as Microsoft PowerBI and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).  Golden Eagle understands that your reports are only as good as your data and our experienced staff is available to work with your internal IT team or lead the way in developing and integrating your data to support your reporting solutions.  A key component of any reporting solution is the data source; which can be the data warehouse, a transactional data store or data marts that are specifically constructed to support specific reporting needs.

Data Marts

In order to deliver meaningful reports, we need to organize the data in such a way that it can be integrated, aggregated and visualized using data integration and visualization tools such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Microsoft Power BI.  This allows us to make comparisons and analyze trends within the data.  A common approach to supporting specific analytical capabilities is to extract a subset of data from a data warehouse and organize it as a data mart. A data mart is a subset of an enterprise data warehouse that is built for a specific set of users or analytic capabilities.

Standardized Data Formats

In order to analyze disparate data sets containing related information, all sources must be brought in to the same context for reporting.  One approach to achieving this is to merge the disparate sources in to a standard structure or data mart. This requires the analysis of each data source to merge data where appropriate ensuring that the data is at the same granular level.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Data Marts are often populated over time to measure business objectives.  These measurements are used to determine trends and are sometimes called Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).  KPIs have a numerical measurement aggregated by one or more dimensions or categories.

Example KPIs include:

  • % Claims Denied by Payer

  • % Claims Denied by Reason

  • Amount Charged for Service by Provider

  • Number of services performed by Service Type and Facility
